Part of this movie, we are being told, was shot with the Canon D5. What part of it we are unable to confirm. While looking around for specific evidence we did however find this video done by some Spanish pranksters. Beware... its somewhat adultis…

Tell us about your experiences, the good and the bad. Personally, I had a Nikon D100 that I picked up from a Philippine Consulate member who had purchased it in Hong Kong. Total cost at the time was about 2700 USD. I didn't know it at the time, bu…

Can't wait. I guess people will want to know the obvious stuff Tom, like how for example you might handle the control of multiple sound channels both concurrently and independently, like say a Canon XL1S might. And you will, I assume, post some ama…

Add Awesome Alliterative Audio to Your 5D!

Since the D5 Mk II is an SLR before it is a video device, the reproduction of sound has consistently been a sensitive subject, but with a bit of assistance, the Mk II can provide audio as transparent and clean as any other microphone-assisted video camera.

To see what you can do to help your sound, check out the clip below. If you’re in the marketplace for a beginner shotgun microphone to add to your weaponry, there are bevyof good ones to try, but look into the Audio Technica AT897 or the Senn… Continue

A look inside Collegehumor.com with the 5D

Scenes From My Life, January 2009 from Sam Reich on Vimeo.

The guys (and gals) at CollegeHumor.com have seen some significant growth in the last few years, going from a testosterone-driven picture-fest to a new bulwark of young smart comedy (OK, some may debate the smart bit, a lot of their jokes have to do with bodily functions). But nevertheless, the team at C… Continue

ORACULUM THE SERIES: The begining

Hi all,
As you know I have been working on a sci-fi series, set here in New York City. Well the ride has been long and crazy. We have seen more red and green lights than a drive down Broadway, but finally we are starting to see light at the tunnel. The American Movie Company along with ORACULUM MEDIA has recently announced they will be filming the pilot episode of my series. We are calling it Oraculum the series, and although I have to keep most of the project secret (i.e. Plot and budgets costs… Continue

Excited to use the new Canon D5

Hello Everyone!
What a great network - I am excited to be here. I am on a small team of people who are currently planning to shoot a short film for our series ORACULUM on the Canon D5. I am hearing that the camera has an awesome battery life which will be great for the many location changes and necessary breaks needed. From the demos that I have seen thus far the image quality is a-mazing. Our DP tells me the the weight on the camera is a little heavy - but I figure for steady shots this is NEVE… Continue
